AN-Routine de soins peau normale
Normal or balanced skin care routine
If your skin is not particularly oily or dry, and if anti-ageing, acne and sensitivity are not concerns, then your skin is balanced and does not require in-depth care.
Day
Cleanser | A gentle, sulfate-free cleanser. |
Toner | Avoid toning lotions containing alcohol. |
Serum | Choose serums containing anti-oxidants such as vitamin C or E. |
Moisturising cream | When moisturising, apply two applications, one to the face and one to the neck. A light moisturizer will hydrate without clogging your pores. Look for ingredients like panthenol and sodium hyaluronate (also known as hyaluronic acid). |
Sunscreen | Use a minimum SPF 30 sunscreen if it is not integrated into your moisturiser or make-up base. Sunscreen is the basis of any routine. It protects the skin against UV aggression. It is also an antioxidant as it acts as a barrier. |
Night
Oil-based cleanser | It is important to cleanse the face in two stages to eliminate impurities of two different natures: greasy impurities (make-up, sebum, pollution etc) and hydrophilic impurities (perspiration, dust etc). This is to avoid irritating the skin. The hydrolipidic film is thus preserved. This is a better option for most people as it is a gentle and effective cleanser. Apply the cleansing oil to the face and massage the face with circular movements, this will activate the blood circulation and at the same time remove traces of make-up and sebum. Then rinse with lukewarm (not hot) water. |
Water-based cleanser | A gentle, sulfate-free cleanser. |
Toner | Avoid toning lotions containing alcohol. |
Serum | Look for an antioxidant serum with brightening ingredients like vitamin C and seaweed extract, as well as naturally revitalizing ingredients like rosemary and peppermint. |
Moisturising cream | At night, you can use a creamier, non-SPF moisturizer to nourish your skin while you sleep. |
Oil | Your skin can become drier as you age, so consider incorporating a nourishing facial oil with anti-aging ingredients into your routine a few times a week. |
Advice | Incorporate glycolic acid into your routine a few times a week. It is an [alpha hydroxy acid AHA] that has a small molecular structure and can penetrate deeper into the skin. This helps dissolve dry skin cells on the surface to promote brighter, more even and smoother skin. |
