AN-Routine de soins peau sèche

Skin care routine for dry skin

Dry skin has a damaged moisture barrier. Your skin has invisible cracks and allows moisture to escape and irritants to enter more easily.

Day

CleanserA foam-free, ultra-gentle cleansing lotion is ideal for dry skin.
TonerTo rebalance your skin’s pH level, restore moisture and protect it from environmental stress. Use a toning lotion containing active ingredients such as niacinamide (derived from vitamin B3), hyaluronic acid.
SerumUse a high potency antioxidant serum (look for vitamins E, A and C) during the day to help prevent collagen breakdown. Just be sure to follow up with a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
Moisturising cream    An anti-oxidant rich moisturiser.
Sunscreen Use a minimum SPF 30 sunscreen if it is not integrated into your moisturiser or make-up base.
Sunscreen is the basis of any routine. It protects the skin against UV aggression. It is also an antioxidant as it acts as a barrier.

Night

Oil-based cleanser It is important to cleanse the face in two stages to eliminate impurities of two different natures: greasy impurities (make-up, sebum, pollution etc) and hydrophilic impurities (perspiration, dust etc). This is to avoid irritating the skin. The hydrolipidic film is thus preserved.
This is a better option for most people as it is a gentle and effective cleanser.
Apply the cleansing oil to the face and massage the face with circular movements, this will activate the blood circulation and at the same time remove traces of make-up and sebum. Then rinse with lukewarm (not hot) water.
Water-based cleanserA foam-free, ultra-gentle cleansing lotion is ideal for dry skin.
TonerUse a toning lotion containing active ingredients such as niacinamide (derived from vitamin B3), hyaluronic acid.
SerumIncorporate an over-the-counter retinol serum into your regimen five nights a week.
Look for an eye serum that contains peptides, as they are good for stimulating collagen activity.
Moisturising creamLook for rose hip seed oil, evening primrose oil, borage oil, phospholipids, cranberry oil, sweet almond oil and jojoba oil in moisturizers. All these ingredients mimic your skin’s natural lipids and better repair your skin’s moisture barrier.
OilIf your skin is extremely dry, use an oil to seal in moisture. Look for grapeseed oil, rich in linoleic acid, which helps with skin barrier repair functions.
Look for balms containing paraffin or mineral oils. They will act as a shield that does not allow moisture to escape.
AdviceGently exfoliate twice a week because if your skin is dry, it means you have a build-up of dead skin cells. If you are trying to moisturise dry skin cells, it doesn’t make sense. Chemical exfoliants do a good job of dissolving dead skin cells without causing cracks in your skin.
